International Equine was first approached to join the syndicate on Miracle Mike in the spring of 2022. Brian DiDonato of Franklin Avenue Equine had just signed the ticket for Mike at the OBS Sale and reached out to see if we would like to come aboard. We were impressed with his breeze, his walk, and his potential, and gladly signed on as a listed partner.
In 2022-23, Miracle Mike was trained by Hall of Fame Trainer Todd Pletcher. He finished a game second on debut, and after a few physical setbacks in 2022, Mike re-entered training in 2023 and has had a great year. He broke his maiden with an explosive late kick under Jose Ortiz to win a 9-furlong turf race at Belmont Park in June. He later followed that breakthrough with a solid placing in the $250,000 Albany Stakes at Saratoga. His lifetime earnings stand at just under $100,000.
We continue to be excited for his future. Mike is a multi-dimensional horse who can perform on both dirt and turf. He has been given a much-deserved vacation in Ocala, FL this winter, and will reenter training in 2024.
